I grew up in a Christian home but started following Jesus when I went off to college at the University of Michigan. I got involved with Campus Crusade for Christ and deepened my relationship with Jesus. I moved out to california in 2001 and started going to Rockharbor Church, where i’ve lead a life group for the last 4 years.
I’ve become discontented with religion and the “American Church” and am on a
journey to learn what Jesus meant when he said, “follow me and I will make you fishers of men” and “all who believe in me (Jesus) will do greater works than he did”. I see how the early church “devoted themselves to the apostle’s teaching, fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer” and long for experiencing this as a christian community.
I see God’s Power demonstrated through the Scriptures, through Jesus, and through his disciples, and would love to see the Church embody gifts of healing, prophecy, etc and empower ministers to live in God’s Power. “The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of Power.”
As I read the Scriptures, I see Jesus embody loving people both with his actions but also in his words. The church today is too silent in its boldness preaching Jesus Christ and him crucified and is sitting back as the kingdom of this world advances, when it should be advancing by proclaiming Jesus is Lord, setting captives free, rebuking demonic Spirits in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and declaring that the Kingdom of God is at hand.
Jesus came to seek and save the Lost and He continues to burden my heart
to make disciples of all Nations, and so I’m on a road now where I want to take more risks for the Kingdom of God, no longer wanting to “live the American dream” but wanting rather to treasure Jesus above all else. What does this look like? Living a life wrecklessly abandoned to the cause of Christ and being availble to minister to people wherever I am and a willingness to go to unreached people who have never heard the Gospel (Romans 10).
I would love to know of people with a similar passion so we can walk alongside each other to bring as many people to the knowledge of Jesus as possible.
Life is too short. Carpe Diem.
Jesus is Lord.
As you look at the Categories section to your right, you will see specific subject matter that describe the posts I’ve written over the last couple years. Specifically, there are some great “Videos” that have inspired, “Personal” section describing things I’ve been wrestling with and “Pictures” of where I live and places I’ve gone to.
